The people of Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Djibouti, Cameroon, Gabon are demanding democracy, rule of law and jobs from their leaders. Since January protests have rocked North African states of Tunisia, Egypt and now Libya. Similar protests have also taken place in Cameroon and Gabon.
The protesters have embraced jet fighters, helicopter gunships, armoured carrier assaults, water cannons, tear gas and camel charge. Thousands have died and tens of thousands have been injured. We cannot watch quietly while a part of humanity is being brutalised. The people of Libya, Cameroon and Gabon need our support. They need our prayers, and our encouragement. Our silence means victory for the totalitarian regimes. Let's us support them. This is the time and opportunity to make a difference. Raise your voice against injustice, oppression and dictatorship. Democracy in Cameroon is Expensive
Quote of the Week
"The Electoral Commission in Ghana has come to symbolise fair play, transparency, accountability, honesty, justice, independence, integrity, selflessness, openness, objectivity and strong leadership and is idolised by many institutions in Ghana, Africa and the World".By Lord Aikins Adusei
"Part of the reason why we are so poor as a continent is governments inability to work in a bi-partisan manner with the opposition to confront the many problems facing us as a continent. In almost all the advanced economies in the world government in power works or listens to the opposition in matters of national importance such as education, defence, energy and the economy. However in Africa such matters are always hijacked by the ruling government to the detriment of the nation and its people". Lord Aikins Adusei
